FBTS Flute Choir and Bel Canto Flutes

The Flutes by the Sea Flute Choir and Bel Canto Flutes will be conducted by Gail Edwards.  Bel Canto Flutes will perform Friday, July 10 at 7pm and Flutes by the Sea Flute Choir will perform July 11 at 7pm.

Gail Edwards is an active performer and teacher throughout the Bay Area. She is a member of the Sacramento Philharmonic, Opera and Ballet orchestras as well as the Modesto Symphony. Gail can also be heard in chamber ensembles most frequently with harp.

Since 2000 Ms. Edwards has led the San Francisco based “Bel Canto Flutes” an ensemble of adult amateurs. This group has performed in a wide variety of venues from AT&T Park, to City Hall to street fairs featuring repertoire that spans the centuries. This group is open to any interested flutist who is intermediate or above and has time for weekly rehearsals and personal practice.

In 2014 Ms. Edwards became the Director of the San Jose based flute ensemble “Well Tempered Flutes”.  This is also an adult ensemble which is for more serious flutists and is open by audition only.
